Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production and finished product; recording quality results, using various measuring methods and equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measuring tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
Approves 1st article product by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measuring tests; returning failed product to machinist and providing report of non-conformities
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste, inputting data into required spreadsheets/data systems
Maintains measuring equipment by following operating instructions, reports faulty equipment for repair
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Works with Manufacturing Engineers in the development of R&D products.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read blue prints accurately (GD&T), process documentation and CMM inspection reports
5+ years operation/programming CMM equipment for the inspection of product, CAD experience preferred.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Math Skills: Good math skills, understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.
Problem Solving Skills: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Attention to Detail: Working with CMM’s and other precision equipment. Keen attention to detail is required.
Mechanical and Technical Skills: Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand a variety of controls and elements used in the production of product. Familiar with CMM’s and the software used to program CMM’s. Ability to accurately program CMM equipment to obtain accurate results.
Stamina: Quality Inspectors often need to walk, sit and/or stand for extended periods.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, previous CMM experience preferred.
