Job Requirements

  • Qualifications:

     

    ·         Proven Union experience is required, with special emphasis on contract negotiations

    ·         Strong FMLA capability

    ·         Effective Worker Compensation skills

    ·         Demonstrated Staffing and Talent acquisition – especially able to succeed despite strong industry competition for hourly workers

    ·         Proficient in Employee Training; able to enhance understanding with legal requirement, laws and best practices to increase employee relations

    ·         Accustomed and comfortable with internal audits or compliance audits from outside agencies

    ·         Ability and drive to complete even routine tasks while working on strategic, operational objectives

     

    ·      Minimum of 8 – 12 years’ experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  PHR/SPHR a plus. Strong experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment

     

    ·         Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Human Resources and Labor Relations, or business-related field; Master’s degree a plus

    ·         Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior management

    ·         Strong business acumen and business partnering skills

    ·         Excellent consulting, coaching, organizational and facilitation skills

    ·         Multi-site location business unit support experience a plus 

    ·         Ability to travel between sites frequently to provide in person client support

    ·         Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

    ·         Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.); Working knowledge of HRIS and talent management systems

    ·         Ability to exhibit international perspective with sensitivity for cultural and language differences

    ·         Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks

Our client is seeking a Union-experienced, Human Resources Manager , with the ability and motivation to provide strategic leadership. This includes maintaining and enhancing Human Resources utilizing excellent workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, compensation, employee/leadership development skills.

This role supports one manufacturing site and one distribution center, with key accountabilities in these important areas:

· Labor Relations/Negotiations

· Employee Relations

· Legal and Governmental Compliances

· Staffing and Talent Acquisition

· Benefits Administration/Payroll

· Performance and Compensation Management

· Employee Development and Training
