Senior Trade Compliance Specialist

- Administrator for SNAP-R; to submit information for the processing of license applications or commodity classifications (ECCN) as needed. Administrator of the restricted party screening process, Trade Beam for the corporation. Administration of AES, the Electronic Export filing. Support participation in Reconciliation, ISF filings, ACE data and Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (CTPAT). Develop and create performance metric reports to address compliance for freight forwarders, brokers, internal departments, etc. Responsible for Classification under the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS), Schedule B, and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN). Ensure all items have the required codes in accordance with company policy and procedures. Lead Country of origin determination as needed, marking requirements, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and other trade programs.
- Research laws, regulations, best practices, industry and company trends/changing circumstances, and global geo-political risks in support of the corporation’s compliance. Interface with the company’s global locations and functions to ensure trade procedures are communicated effectively. Responsible for assisting in the development and administration of trade compliance policies, procedures, and periodic management risk reviews. Assist in the development and maintenance of corporate trade policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the applicable governmental laws and regulations. Develop, schedule, facilitate and coordinate training.
- Conduct internal auditing of classifications, origin, free trade agreements, policy and procedures and transactional trade documentation. Auditing may require interfacing with Brokers, Forwarders, Suppliers, Purchasing, Accounting, Internal Audit, Traffic, Receiving, other internal departments and/or global locations. Compile audit results, advise recommendation’s and report any anomalies. Ensure all questions, concerns, and requests for support/help are appropriately addressed and documented in a timely manner. Follow through on actions to be reported to required individuals or entities. Follow up to ensure any modifications to databases, documents or entries are completed, filed, and logged.
- Provide leadership oversight as required. Assist in developing and coaching team members.

Associate Degree (Business)
Must have valid driving privileges
Frequent travel (6-20%)
Frequent overnight stays (6-20%)
Personal certificates in Supply Management, International Business or Import/Export Compliance could be considered in lieu of a formal college degree. Direct experience with the BIS, FTC, or CBP programs is desirable. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, and presentation and word processing programs is necessary. This position requires a high degree of organization and ability to follow actions and tasks through with little supervision. Excellent communication skills. A high level of interpersonal skills and professionalism are required. The incumbent must be able to work as a contributing team member on cross functional and multi-national teams and provide leadership as an individual contributor and travel internationally.
