Accounting and HR Manager job in Roseville at River City Staffing Group

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Accounting (20%)

• Close books monthly, with required month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as part of month-end close.
• Prepare month-end bank account, credit card, and cashflow reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end review requests from the CPA, IRS, etc.

General Accounting (40%)

• A/P and A/R reconciliation and processing on accrual basis in QuickBooks, job tracking and reporting
• Credit card processing; Interface with bank for wires and electronic transfers and mobile check deposits
• Perform Accounts Receivable and collections calls
• Payroll and associated HR liability reconciliation
• Complete sales/use tax returns
• Manage employee benefits and reconcile liabilities

HR and Payroll Management (40%)

• Liaise with outsourced HR administrator to run bi-weekly payroll, manage hiring process, onboard new hires, administer benefits, etc.
• Provide and gather new employee info, tax documentation, and on-boarding documents
• Develop and improve existing HR policies, procedures, and execution with help from external firm
• Assist with internal projects office administrative tasks as requested.
• Organize and keep all accounting and personnel files.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to think strategically and execute operations.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Strong diagnostic and decision quality skills.
• Experience identifying organizational trends and developing HR solutions to improve performance.
• California Employment Law familiarity
• Computer savvy and proficient in QuickBooks online.
• Able to see the big picture and execute strategic initiatives for the company (such as HIPAA and SOC2 compliance, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Preferred
• 2-6 years’ experience in an accounting environment, including monthly financial close and reporting functions.
• Advanced understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
• Comfortable with Payroll and HR administration

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
