POSITION PURPOSE


 

The Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for routine preventative maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repairs to all company facilities, mechanical assets, and the surrounding environment to ensure they are in optimal condition. Also responsible for managing any third party vendors and contractors used to perform this work.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES


 Facility & Asset Maintenance 

 

  1. Take personal responsibility to actively listen to members, understand their needs, and take the initiative to help the member as your first priority. While a specific position may have little direct member contact, every position at Carolinas Telco FCU supports the member.

  2. Maintain knowledge of regulations appropriate for position (ex. Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, OSHA, etc.), and attend all training as it relates to job-related regulations. Adhere to Carolinas Telco FCU security procedures and safeguard member information.

  3. Take personal responsibility to actively listen to Carolinas Telco FCU employees, understand their needs, and take the initiative to make sure our facilities provide a positive working environment for employees and members. Maintain our facilities and grounds so they project a positive image of the credit union and operate as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. The function of this position is to support the activities of employees and make the job of supporting members easier.

  4. Responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facilities, equipment, and credit union vehicles.

  5. Secure bids and negotiate vendor service and supply contracts; inspect performed services for workmanship and compliance; review billing for accuracy; ensure supplies, equipment, and services purchased are of acceptable quality for the least possible cost.

  6. Perform other duties as directed by management.

  6. Recommend actions regarding major repairs, remodeling, and construction needs.




 


Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative role within Facility Maintenance and/or Capital Projects required.

Previous experience in project management, facilities planning, contract administration, or small works construction is preferred.

 

Required Knowledge:

Background in construction/maintenance processes, terms, documentation, and contractor selection/negotiations.

 

Required SKILLS:

Basic ability to read and interpret construction and architectural drawings.

Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to comply with company standards.

Ability to write comprehensive reports.

Ability to attain or have knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations applicable to industry.

Ability to attain or have knowledge of financial institution procedures, services, and programs.

Ability to be flexible and responsive to provide the highest quality of service to internal and external members.

Proficient computer and typing skills, with intermediate knowledge/skills using Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Ability to be thorough, accurate, attend to detail.

Must possess and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, maturity, and patience.

Ability to work under deadline pressure.

Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem-solving.
