Job Requirements


General Requirements


  • -          Directs and oversees the activities of all Food & Beverage departments to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and outstanding guest/member service

  • -          Assists in planning and directing the functions of the Food & Beverage department to meet the daily needs of the operation

  • -          Assists in implementing effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs

  • -          Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards

  • -          Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff. 

  • -          Responsible for both short and long term planning as well as the management of the Food and   Beverage operations in the front and back of the house

  • -          Development and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans

  • -          Participate in total EBC management as a director level department head

  • -          Implement and maintain F&B sales/marketing programs

  • -          Direct and oversee development of associates

  • -          Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews

  • -          Direct the implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations

  • -          Coordinate food and beverage operations with other departments to ensure efficient guest/member service

  • -          Resolve guest/member complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of guest/member satisfaction and quality

  • -          Implement procedures to increase guest/member and associate satisfaction

  • -          Exercise quality control for both food and beverage

  • -          Maintaining EBC standards of service and ensure their implementation

  • -          Performing daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and EBC standards

  • -          Maintain communications with Executive Leadership

  • -          Coach and counsel employees to reflect EBC service standards and procedures

  • -          Any and all additional duties as assigned


Qualifications/Standards


  • -          Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

  • -          Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

  • -          8 years or more of progressive Hotel/Restaurant Food and Beverage experience

  • -          Hotel/Restaurant opening experience, pre-opening experience preferred

  • -          Service oriented style with professional presentations skills

  • -          At least 5 years experience in a senior role in a food and beverage environment

  • -          Proven leadership skills

  • -          Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset

  • -          Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English

  • -          Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • -          Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

  • -          Experience implementing new F&B concepts

The F&B department at the EBC is made up the Grill (an all day eatery), The Juice Bar (freshly made juices and smoothies), The Sundeck (poolside drinks and snacks), The Foodshop (prepared meals and retail to eat in or to go), and Events (for both members and external guests).  The Director of F&B will be responsible for the leadership and strategy of the current outlets as well as new programming to launch in 2021.



EBC is seeking a Director of Food and Beverage to lead the team with a demonstrated ability to support company leadership in the execution of business strategies for our already successful Food & Beverage department.



This includes: supporting strategic research and development initiatives, recruiting and training of dining room and kitchen staff, product selection, ordering and inventory support, providing world class guest service to internal and external guests while taking great care of the equipment and facilities. The responsibilities listed below are indicative of the nature of the position and can be modified due to organizational changes, new business developments, or expansion of the position.




Job Summary


The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for leadership and direction of all food & beverage outlets including Restaurants, Juice Bar, Food Shop, SunDeck, Events. and any other Food or Beverage related services or areas operated by the East Bank Club(EBC).


As a department head at the club, the Director of Food & Beverage is a highly visible role with exposure to other members of senior and executive leadership. This position reports to the Executive Director.
