Provide leadership for all aspects of the company’s human resources area. Oversee associated policies, procedures and practices in accordance with employment laws and regulations. Adhere to the highest level of professional standards regarding matters that are confidential and/or require discretion. Perform under general direction from the Vice President, Administration & Finance.
Head the company’s Human Resources Department
Manage and administer human resources activities and functions
Oversee salary administration, PTO and employee benefits programs, etc.
Recruit, qualify, interview and hire exempt and non-exempt employees; oversee associated processes
Guide the performance appraisal, transfer, promotion and progressive disciplinary processes
Monitor and ensure compliance with personnel policies and procedures related to corporate programs
Represent the HR Department on the Security Committee and attend to all Security Program-related processes
Utilize internal and licensed HRIS and Payroll-related software and tools and provide management-level oversight of same
Create and conduct employee engagement communications for remote and on site staff
Interact with internal payroll staff and provide guidance as required
Maintain standardized job descriptions and create promotion paths and salary bands for all positions
Manage FMLA, AAP, Vets-100, EEOC, etc. compliance
Ensure compliance with all HR-related SOC controls, including records evidencing same
Maintain all personnel files, both hard copy and electronic within appropriate structures
Arrange and oversee employee training and training records’ retention
Counsel managers and employees about employment-related issues, benefits, etc.
Supervise the work of one subordinate
Develop subordinate (i.e. train, motivate, mentor, monitor conduct and work performance, oversee disciplinary actions using established BSI procedures)
Serve as a contact with insurance carriers and agents as well as with 401(k) TPAs
