Manufacturing Mechanic Technician

Under limited supervision performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of industrial washers, dryers and equipment; performs related work as assigned.

Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs equipment, performs inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment. Prepares and maintains records and reports

  • Able to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment malfunctions with minimal downtime.
  • Able to fine tune automated systems for required production efficiency and quality.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership skills and supervise maintenance productivity on the plant floor.
  • Able to train in classroom and hands on all other levels of mechanics.
  • Able to plan and lay out projects; installation of equipment and utility connections.
  • Able to perform chief engineer duties in his/her absence.
  • Able to supervise plant preventive maintenance program.
  • Able to keep building and equipment up to specifications of “show plant”
  •  Is knowledgeable about building code, fire code, electrical code, employment code.
  • Has computer experience with Microsoft word, excel, windows, e-mail, purchasing/pm program.
  • Able to attend or has attended MMI school from TRSA.


·         High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two years of experience and/or training in industrial/commercial laundry equipment repair and maintenance shop or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Has certificates of completion for boiler, compressor, ironing lines, and tunnel washer automated systems training.

Years of Related Experience:  2 Years


Skill in: Use of power and hand tools.

·         Use of diagnostic equipment.

·         Acetylene and electric arc welding.

·         Operation of machine and equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Ability to:

·         Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.

·         Diagnose problems and make repairs.

·         Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

·         Prepare and maintain records and reports.

·         Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications.

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
