Position Scope: The FSQ Manager is responsible for providing leadership and instruction in the areas of food safety and quality at the local unit. This position drives corporate food safety and quality policies and procedures at the local level to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and third-party audit standards. 


Education and Experience Requirements:  

       Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from an accredited 4-year university; preference will be given to candidates with degrees in Food Science, Microbiology, Biological Science, or related discipline. 

       4 years of experience in the food industry; experience in a Food Safety or Quality Assurance position a plus. 

       Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred  Supervisory experience preferred. 

       HACCP and ServSafe Manager Certification preferred (must achieve certification within 6 months of start date). 

       FSPCA and SQF Practitioner Certification a plus. 

       In-depth knowledge and understanding of various pathogens and microbes associated with food production and food microbiological testing. 

       Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP’s, and government/industry food safety and quality regulations, codes, and standards. 

       Knowledge and understanding of food safety and quality assurance principles, root cause analysis strategies, and continuous process improvement. 

       Proven manager; capable of coaching, developing, motivating and building a team. 

       Strong computer skills, (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.). 

       Excellent communication skills both written and orally. 

       Team player who demonstrates initiative and integrity while being able to work with little supervision. 

       Able to travel to various suppliers periodically to perform vendor audits. 



       Ensure corporate food safety and quality policies and procedures are fully implemented. 

       Maintain open communication with all departments to address the identification of food safety and quality issues and continuous improvement opportunities. 

       Ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulatory requirements (Federal, State, and Local). 

       Manage the facilities HACCP plan, GMP’s, SSOP’s and other pre-requisite programs to meet regulatory and customer requirements and review and maintain all relevant documents according to FFG record retention policy. 

       Routinely audit food safety and quality practices to evaluate performance and provide feedback to personnel and department leaders to ensure compliance with the Food
