LITIGATION LEGAL SECRETARY N. Dallas $70K - $90K
The process from the beginning of a case to the end, is generally the same on all cases and will typically run anywhere from two months (for cases that settle) to a year. Most of our legal assistant work requires the use of templates for pleadings, motions, discovery, etc., e-filing and keeping their attorney’s calendar/docket up to date at all times. Filing season is generally from mid-July through the end of September. This is an extremely busy time for all of us and is typically the only time of the year where paid overtime may be required, although over the two years that I have been with the firm, very little overtime has been necessary. Attention to detail and organization is essential. Legal assistants must be proactive and manage their attorney’s docket effectively, making sure their attorney is where they need to be every day and all deadlines are being met.
