The Readers' Circle is a volunteer editing network that connects community members with incarcerated writers seeking feedback on their creative and non-fiction work. As part of a prison education project, the program provides typing, editing, and feedback services to authors in over 100 U.S. prisons, supporting underrepresented writers and encouraging creative exchange.

We seek compassionate, articulate, and justice-minded volunteers to assist our growing pool of incarcerated authors. No prior editing experience is needed—just a Gmail account, an open mind, and a passion for reading.

Preferred candidates have working knowledge of Google Workspace and some college experience. Volunteers will complete a 30-minute virtual orientation upon signing up.

Our core belief is in the power of the word to connect, heal, and educate.
