Position Summary
Whitworth University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the School Counseling program. This faculty role is central to preparing graduate students for impactful and ethical practice in K-12 school counseling settings.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to student mentorship, and active engagement in program development and accreditation. As a member of a collaborative academic community, the faculty member will contribute to Whitworth's mission of faith, excellence, and service, integrating these values into teaching, scholarship, and service.
We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered professional who values collaboration, strives for teaching excellence, and is committed to the growth and success of the School Counseling program.
Contract dates: July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

Qualifications and Core Competencies
Earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Counselor Education from an accredited institution.
ABD candidates will be considered for the rank of Instructor if the degree is conferred by summer 2027.
Preference for graduates of CACREP-accredited programs
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level
A personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith and learning
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Commitment to Whitworth University's mission as a Christian liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church

Hiring range: $59,572 to $63,718
Commensurate with years of credited service. 1.75% increase to the minimum salary is granted for each year of credited service at the rank of assistant professor.
