Our client is an established furniture manufacturer seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join their production team on the day shift. This role focuses on the hands-on assembly and finishing of seating products, including task chairs, sofas, and loveseats. The ideal candidate works efficiently to production standards, follows detailed work orders, and maintains a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Job Responsibilities -
- Apply fabric, leather, and vinyl materials to seating products in accordance with design and production specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders to ensure accurate completion of each assigned unit.
- Operate hand tools and power tools specific to furniture upholstery tasks.
- Maintain production efficiency standards across a broad range of product styles.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including prolonged standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
- Lift and maneuver seating components weighing up to 70 lbs. as needed.
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, including proper PPE usage at all times.
- Proactively report safety concerns and participate in EHS initiatives on the production floor.
Job Requirements -
- 3 or more years of experience working with upholstery materials, including fabric, leather, and vinyl.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools in a production environment.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work order instructions accurately.
- Capable of meeting efficiency benchmarks across multiple product styles.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and sustain physical activity throughout a full shift.
- Must comply with PPE requirements, including safety glasses and steel-toe footwear.
- Prior experience in furniture upholstery or a related manufacturing role is preferred.
