Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Bethpage, NY

Pay: $1,884.80 weekly

Shifts: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Every third weekend required)

Seven Healthcare are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in Bethpage, NY. The successful candidate will work in a very large, busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services for multiple facilities. This role includes supervising and coordinating staff and daily operations within Central Sterile services.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Supervise and coordinate the staff and daily operations of Central Sterile services
  • Ensure staff compliance with sterilization techniques, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in maintaining department records and ensure activities are properly documented
  • Serve as a liaison between Central Sterile department and perioperative areas
  • Ensure proper care and handling of instrumentation from the decontamination area
  • Accept and tag fast tracks
  • Assign daily job tasks to employees and adjust as needed

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Current Registered Central Supply Technician Certification (CRCST or CSPD)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Leadership / management experience
  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, manual dexterity, and ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
