Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Profession: Speech Language Pathology Specialty: Speech Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, Certified Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Must-Have: Experience with bedside swallow studies and video swallowing studies is preferred. Travel experience is preferred. Trauma experience is preferred. Description: The position involves providing speech therapy services to patients with various diagnoses. The number of patients treated per day depends on the area assigned, with outpatient typically accommodating up to 9 patients per day and inpatient up to 13. Coverage may include both outpatient and inpatient areas, and flexibility to float to other areas may be required. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, traumatic brain injury, neuro disorders, cognitive impairments, and swallowing difficulties. Candidates must have experience working in inpatient clinical settings. Weekend and holiday shifts may vary based on staffing needs. Uniform requirements include a maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toed shoes; a lab coat is optional. Charting will be done using an electronic medical record system. The facility operates a pharmacy 24/7, and shifts may change based on operational needs. Cancellation of shifts may occur up to 4 times during the assignment. Candidates should be aware that specific requisition requirements will be communicated by the facility.
