Description:
RN's must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation.
This is an open-book exam on skills learned, with resources provided to assist in passing.
A score of 90% is required to pass; failure to achieve this will result in termination.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract.
This unit serves oncology patients, trauma patients, and critical care patients.
Specific experience in oncology and PCU is preferred.
RNs may need to titrate drips, including insulin and cardizem, on occasion.
Common medications include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix.
Travelers will float to other units as needed.
Orientation includes 2 days of training.
Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
Self-scheduling options are available.
Support staff includes nursing assistants, physical therapy, occupational therapy, case managers, and social workers.
The unit provides care for a diverse patient population and emphasizes respect for all patients’ beliefs.
Focus on teamwork and camaraderie is essential for success.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment.
Charting is conducted using EPIC.
This position does not require a BSN.
Trauma level is 1, and the care setting is acute.
