Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of recent specialty experience required Charge and teaching hospital experience preferred Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the PCU specialty. The nurse will care for a patient ratio of 1:5. Candidates should have experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Cardiac Telemetry. Other important skills include Post Cardiac, Angiogram, Post MI, and Pre/Post Cardiac procedures. Knowledge of IV insulin protocols and feeding tube care is essential. Experience with hemodialysis management is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with managing dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring. Administration of medication protocols, including heparin and cardiac drips, is expected. Experience with airway management, including tracheostomy care, is required. Candidates should be knowledgeable in wound care and isolation precautions. The role may require regular floating among departments and units as needed. Weekend shifts are required with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Reference requirement includes two references from the past year, with one being a supervisor level or above. Drug screening is a necessary prerequisite for the position.
