Job Title: Clinical Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 12-hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of three years of acute care experience License: Registered Nursing License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Graduated from an accredited school of professional registered nursing; Associate Degree or BSN accepted Description: The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, quality nursing care. The RN utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned to their care. The RN makes determinations regarding patient progress towards goals. The RN utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with patients and families. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote, maintain, and restore health. Care is provided according to the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization. The RN demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan through observations and communication with the health team. The RN performs essential nursing skills and explains health treatments to clients and their families. The RN modifies the care plan as needed based on patient observation and reactions. The RN demonstrates current knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. The RN delegates tasks based on the legal scopes of practice of care team members.
