Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC Must-Have: Strong ED clinical judgment and critical thinking skills. Ability to rapidly assess, prioritize, and intervene in high acuity and low resource settings. Strong TRIAGE skills. Ability to work independently and within a small high functioning team. Accountability, adaptability, and effective communication skills. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Description: The unit has 11 beds and is staffed by 8 RNs. The day shift includes 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, and 1 Radiology Technician. The night shift includes 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, and 1 Radiology Technician. There is a security officer present from 12 PM to 4 AM on campus. Patient ratios are managed through team nursing. The equipment used is standard for an Emergency Department with EMR Meditech. Candidates are preferred to be bilingual in English and Spanish. Previous experience in a Free Standing Emergency Department is desired. Knowledge of Meditech and point of care testing experience is a plus. Typical procedures performed include phlebotomy, airway management, splinting, moderate sedation monitoring, wound care, cardiac monitoring, code response, and resuscitation support. The ideal candidate is team-oriented and collaborative. Comfort in working in a small team environment is essential. A strong work ethic with a patient-centered mindset is required. Candidates must adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Block scheduling is mandatory, and weekends may apply.
