Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:30 - 15:00 and 08:30 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year of circulator experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Operating room circulator experience in the intraoperative setting. Description: The Registered Nurse will work a schedule of 5 days one week and 4 days the following week. This results in a total of 72 hours in a two-week period. The nurse will have 1 day off every other week. The patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics. Specialties include retina surgery, total hip and knee replacements, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:4 in 5 operating rooms with an average daily census of 18. Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems is required. There is a rare need for floating within the facility as needed. No call requirements are expected; however, a staff member may need to stay if more rooms are completed than expected. If a major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. Travelers are expected to work two major holidays if three fall during their assignment. Compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time. The role involves handling various surgical procedures and maintaining patient safety and infection control protocols. The nurse will be responsible for administering care and ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical environment. Documentation of care in the required charting system is essential.
