Key tasks include authoring and updating system specifications, interface control documents, manuals, procedures, and test reports; collaborating with engineers and program managers to gather data; ensuring documentation reflects current design baselines; applying standards like DoD SDLC, MIL-STD-498, and DODAF; and coordinating peer reviews for accuracy.
Qualifications include 2-4 years of technical writing experience in aerospace or defense, familiarity with systems engineering, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Preferred skills involve experience with joint military documentation, MBSE tools, certification testing, and proficiency with authoring tools.
