Job Summary

The Supplemental Nurse (RN or LPN) provides clinical and operational support to the DOI Wellness Center on an as-needed basis. This role ensures continuity of care during Nurse Manager absences, supports wellness programs, and assists with clinical services and special events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including first aid, basic treatment, and health screenings
  • Assist with triage and emergency response under established protocols
  • Support wellness programs (vaccinations, health fairs, screenings, education)
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA and DOI policies
  • Assist with clinic operations, including supply management and equipment checks
  • Support AED program activities (inspections, readiness checks, training support)
  • Provide coverage during:
    • Nurse Manager leave
    • Meetings or training
    • After-hours and special events
  • Coordinate with the Nurse Manager and OSHE staff to ensure seamless service delivery

Required Qualifications (RN)

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 4 years of clinical experience (ambulatory care preferred)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to meet federal security and credentialing requirements

Required Qualifications (LPN)

  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
  • Active, unrestricted LPN license
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to meet federal security and credentialing requirements

Work Schedule

  • As-needed / on-call basis
  • Primarily weekdays during clinic hours
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and special events
