The Instructional Assistant II assists certificated teachers by providing instruction and support to individual students or small groups, monitoring progress, and maintaining records.
- Tutors students, reinforces instruction, and participates in instructional teams.
- Prepares lessons, administers and scores tests, and helps determine students' English proficiency.
- Monitors student behavior, reports performance, and assists with lab work.
- Performs clerical tasks, maintains classroom records, and operates educational equipment.
- Supports teachers with setup, supplies, and student supervision, including behavior and self-care activities.
- May perform health-related services and assist with emergency drills, field trips, and supervision duties.
- Participates in meetings and training, covers for absent aides, and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, 48 college hours or passing the Kentucky para-educator test, along with experience working with children in organized settings.
