We're a fast-growing correctional healthcare company and we need an accountant who can keep up.

If you want a role where you own real work, collaborate directly with leadership, and actually see the impact of what you do — keep reading.

What You'll Do

  • Own month-end and year-end close — journal entries, accruals, reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Process AP/AR transactions as needed
  • Reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts
  • Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting
  • Identify ways to improve workflows and internal controls
  • Collaborate with operations, HR, and leadership on financial reporting

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a professional setting
  • Solid GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure (preferred)
  • Public accounting or audit background is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar — and Excel
  • Sharp attention to detail with strong analytical instincts
  • Experience in healthcare, government, or multi-entity environments a plus

The Right Person For This Role

  • Wants to understand what the numbers mean, not just close the books
  • Looks for ways to improve a process, not just run it
  • Takes ownership and follows through
  • Raises their hand when something looks off — and comes with a fix
  • Can talk to a fellow accountant or present to the CFO and handle both fine

Why CHP We're mission-driven, growing fast, and building something. You won't be a number here — you'll be someone who helps us get it right.

Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance | Generous PTO | California paid sick leave | 401(k) with company match

Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid — remote + in-office) Type: Full-Time Compensation: $60,000 – $85,000 per year, depending on experience

This position requires successful completion of a background check as a condition of employment.
