Job Summary
Performs noninvasive cardiac diagnostic procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations, including 12‑lead electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter and event monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, exercise treadmill testing (ETT), exercise and pharmacologic stress testing (ESE, DSE, bicycle stress echo), and extended cardiac rhythm monitoring using patch monitors. Ensures accurate acquisition, documentation, and appropriate workflow integration of studies within the electronic medical record system. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias to support ECG interpretation, ambulatory monitoring, and stress testing procedures. Assists with training and competency development of student volunteers and clinical staff. Utilizes clinical information systems effectively and performs basic administrative functions including scheduling, coordination of studies, and communication with patients and care teams. Maintains current knowledge, skills, and compliance with clinical standards to provide high-quality patient care, and performs other duties as assigned.

Department Overview
The EKG Lab at UC Davis Medical Center provides comprehensive electrocardiographic services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, operating seven days a week to support timely clinical decision-making. The lab performs high-volume 12-lead ECG acquisitions, including both routine and STAT studies, in close coordination with nursing units, providers, and procedural areas, and utilizes integrated systems, including ECG machines interfaced with Epic, to ensure accurate documentation, interpretation, and charge capture. In addition to standard ECG services, the lab offers a full range of diagnostic testing, including exercise treadmill testing (ETT), exercise stress echocardiography (ESE), dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE), bicycle stress echo, nuclear medicine stress testing, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and patch monitor and extended cardiac rhythm monitoring. The lab maintains a strong focus on quality and compliance through standardized workflows, staff competency, and continuous quality improvement initiatives, while supporting broader cardiology service line goals related to operational efficiency, patient care, and revenue integrity.
