Accentuate Staffing is partnering with a growing engineering and construction services company hiring for a Special Inspector. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay, paid certifications, and long-term growth potential. This role is a step up from a traditional CMT Technician position and is ideal for candidates with construction inspection experience looking to expand their certifications and technical expertise. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in field environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field inspections and materials testing on construction sites.
- Conduct testing and inspections related to soils, concrete, masonry, and other construction materials.
- Prepare accurate daily field reports and documentation.
- Review construction plans and blueprints to verify compliance and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, technicians, and clients regarding site conditions and testing results.
- Maintain testing equipment and follow all company safety procedures and standards.
- Perform physical field work including lifting equipment, traversing uneven terrain, climbing, bending, and squatting as required.
- Support projects that may occasionally require after-hours or weekend work.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspections or related field work.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding field activities.
- Basic understanding of construction plans and blueprints.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCDOT certifications.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I certification.
- Nuclear Gauge User Certification.
- ICC Special Inspector certifications in Soils, Concrete, and/or Masonry.
