Job Position: Special Education Teacher 2026-27 School Year

Location: Joliet, IL 60435

Pay Rate: W2, hourly; starting at $50/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview:

Birch Agency is s seeking a committed a Special Education Teacher to support 6th8th grade students with a focus on physical, behavioral, social, and emotional needs. This role is ideal for educators experienced in behavioral intervention and CPI techniques, or those eager to grow in this area.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement.

• Experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student IEP goals

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP accommodations and modifications

• Support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs

• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families

• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

• Utilize effective classroom management and instructional strategies

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
