Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor & Delivery unit in West Bloomfield, MI. The RN will provide high-quality, compassionate patient care while utilizing the nursing process — assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation — to support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and post-partum care.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective patient care in the Labor & Delivery unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery
- Provide post-partum patient care and education
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and healthcare staff
- Document patient care accurately and timely
- Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and emergency situations
- Participate in patient care coordination and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Michigan RN License
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Post-Partum experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
