Prep Cook-Pittsburgh

The Prep Cook assists the kitchen team under the guidance of the executive chef to prepare food efficiently and accurately. Their tasks include chopping vegetables, breaking down stations, cutting meat, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing produce, and proper food storage. They must follow instructions clearly, label and date prepped items, and ensure all food is properly prepared for line cooks.

• Strong listening and communication skills are essential to understand and execute recipes and collaborate effectively.
• Basic math and written skills are required.
• Work involves manual dexterity, standing for long periods, and enduring hot/cold conditions.
• Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma, culinary degree, and 1-2 years of food service experience. A food handler's card may be required based on local regulations.
