Physical Therapist

This role involves evaluating patients and creating treatment plans, ensuring competence in various therapeutic areas
The Physical Therapist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, adheres to regulations, and maintains patient satisfaction through effective clinical decision-making and equipment management
Supervisory:
- Delegates authority to PTA's and Technicians
- Provides supervisory visits according to state regulations
Clinical:
- Maintains productivity level at department target
- Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Physical Therapy
- Demonstrates skills in the following areas:Evaluation, Therapeutic Exercise/Activity, Gait training, Cognitive skills, Wheelchair transfers, Modalities as appropriate for PT
- Attends and provides continuing education in-servicing
- Serves as mentor for new employee(s) or volunteers
- Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician
- Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner
Budget:
- Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies
- Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment and equipment
Other:
- Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes
Regulation: - Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes
Requirements:
- Must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- Must hold a current Mississippi License
- Must be certified in CPR
- Must demonstrate competency in assessment and treatment of the following areas where applicable: Neonates/Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics

You must have the following education to apply:
Bachelor's of Physical Therapy Master's of Physical Therapy, preferred - Knowledge Skills and Abilities - Demonstrate competency in assessment and treatment of the following areas where applicable:
Neonates/Infants
Pediatrics
Adolescents
Adults
Geriatrics - Participate in Clinical Ladder program as applicable - Must plan, organize, and implement patient treatment - Must coordinate patient treatment schedule with other PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, SLPs, and rehab technicians - Must participate in PI projects, committees, and teams and report as appropriate - Establish and revise new and existing treatment protocols, policies and procedures - Interact with team members, physicians, nursing personnel, social workers, payers, and other medical staff in person, by phone, and/or written communication - Extensive contact with patients and visitors both in person and by phone
