About the Position
Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Neonatologist to join our esteemed Level III NICU team in Macon, GA. This is a unique opportunity to provide advanced neonatal care within a modern, state-of-the-art facility, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and engage in academic and teaching activities. Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive, family-centered care to neonates in a high-volume 70-bed Level III NICU.
- Manage critically ill, premature, and high-risk newborns, utilizing advanced neonatal therapies and technologies including high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, and total body cooling.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs), pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists.
- Participate in an attractive, shared call and rounding schedule designed to promote work-life balance.
- Deliver care within Georgia’s designated regional perinatal/neonatal center, in a modern facility opened in 2019.
- Engage in academic activities and teaching opportunities through an appointment with Mercer University School of Medicine.
- Educate and mentor pediatric residents and neonatal fellows.
- Contribute to initiatives focused on evidence-based neonatal care, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Work exclusively within the NICU, with no newborn nursery duties required.
- Be involved in family-centered approaches and support initiatives that enhance neonatal outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology.
- Residency trained in Neonatology.
- Ability to obtain medical licensure in Georgia.
- J1 visa candidates are encouraged to apply; currently not accepting Locums.
- Residency within or near the Macon area preferred; relocation may be required.
