SUMMARY
The deli clerk supports the store’s mission to provide friendly service and quality products. They must have basic knowledge of storing, preparing, and maintaining deli items, and consistently deliver excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow regulations and policies on food safety and sanitation
- Provide attentive customer service and answer product questions
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions
- Properly process, prepare, and package products
- Stock, clean, and rotate cases and shelves
- Adhere to shrink guidelines and monitor equipment temperatures
- Complete necessary paperwork and follow manager’s instructions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and use computers
- Strong communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & EQUIPMENT
- Use of various kitchen equipment such as ovens, slicers, fryers, and scales
- Must meet age requirements for specific equipment
