This position is for an Operator I in the water and wastewater treatment field, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with on-call weekends.
- Observes and adjusts flows, chemical feeds, and effluent quality based on process needs.
- Monitors and controls levels, pressures, and flows; calibrates lab equipment; disposes of sludge per regulations.
- Operates treatment facilities, records data, collects and analyzes samples, and maintains equipment.
- Follows safety protocols, participates in safety meetings, and inspects equipment.
- Orders supplies, manages inventory, and operates vehicles safely.
- Performs facility rounds, cleans and maintains grounds, and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Handles chemicals safely, assists with public tours, and performs repairs and maintenance on equipment, wells, and systems.
- Provides customer service, handles service connections and complaints, and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and any water certification (A, B, C, D). Skills include knowledge of water/wastewater operations, safety standards, repair abilities, and physical capacity for heavy labor, working in confined spaces, and extreme weather conditions.
