Bowhead seeks a Lead Network Operations Engineer to support our customer on the PICRD II contract in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Supervise and manage the NetOps team.
• Provide successful installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of all classified and unclassified networks and system management tools.
• Execute network architecture, networking, and patch capabilities.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies in accordance with government and accreditation standards.
• Follow operational O&M checklists with associated service checklists. Network, Mission System, and Server Equipment Management (PWS 5.8) Provide support for Solaris, Linux, Windows (various versions), VMware, Mac operating systems, and related infrastructure.
• Configuration, installation, and security fortification of fiber and Ethernet networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, hardware, and network anomalies to restore systems (servers, desktops, laptops, peripherals, scanners, plotters, printers) to normal operation quickly.
• Perform Tier 0-2 support for HQ USSPACECOM systems and networks in accordance with government regulations.
• Provide network technical support, including address and machine/domain name management.
• Interface and coordinate with external agencies on WAN and other long-haul communications link issues.
• Install and connect communications infrastructure within HQ USSPACECOM facilities in coordination with the appropriate network owner.

• Ensure quality workmanship, timeliness, tracking, and reporting of the overall health and state of communications infrastructure.
• Adhere to general policies approved by DoD, USAF, USSF, and applicable industry standards.
• Conduct quality workmanship for all communications systems installations, cable installations, and problem resolution within specified facilities (Building 1/PSFB, Newport Building, Bayfield Facility, and other HQ USSPACECOM facilities in the Colorado Springs area).
• Ensure as-planned and as-built documentation of existing and new infrastructure is provided to the configuration manager.
• Maintain HOSP warranty information and work with HQ USSPACECOM stakeholders and applicable vendors to facilitate necessary vendor maintenance contracts. Provide on-site troubleshooting and repair.
• Install, configure, and remove HOSP equipment, to include PMI for HQ USSPACECOM.
• Other duties as assigned.
• BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of one (1) year of technical experience performing the duties described.
• Meets the Core and Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Tasks (KSATs) defined in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework for Work Role 441 (NIST: OM-NET-001).
• Experience establishing network architecture, networking, and patch capabilities.
• Experience maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies in accordance with government and accreditation standards.
• Experience with operating systems such as, Solaris, Linux, Windows operating systems (OS) and servers, VMware (various versions) as well as several versions of the Mac operating systems.
• Experience providing network technical support including address and machine/domain name management, interfacing/coordinating with external agencies on WAN (and other long-haul communications links) issues and troubleshooting problems.
Certification Requirements:
• Required: CompTIA Sec+
• Desired: Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Installer I
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
