MOVER INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

Job Overview:

The Mover Installation Technician is expert in skill and knowledge of modular systems furniture and is required to know product currently on-hand and available for reconfiguration. This position is responsible for estimating time necessary for individual tasks as well as completing moves, managing priorities and expectations. The Mover Installation Technician will work with their team in order to safely and successfully complete moves throughout the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Bring all products and necessary tools/equipment ready and available for each job. Arrives on time at scheduled move. Always communicate with appropriate people, if late.
  • Loads/Unloads products from truck and stages as required.
  • Responsible for setting up and installations of office furniture (moving boxes, furniture, file cabinets, etc). Ensure that when an installation is complete, all surfaces are level, wiped down and any metal or wood touch up required is complete.
  • Responds to work order requests for repair and service of furniture and case goods. Responsible for follow up on all punch list items.
  • Receives and delivers furniture products arriving at loading dock and completes any paperwork necessary upon receipt.
  • Keeps storage areas free from accumulation of materials that could lead to tripping, fires, explosions, or pest issues.
  • Determines routes and makes adjustments based on traffic conditions, weather forecasts, time constraints, etc.
  • Maintains positive relationships and good communication with patients, visitors, staff members, and those within the Move Department

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • *In lieu of a High School Diploma/GED, one (1) additional year of experience may be considered (total 3 years' experience).*

Licensure / Certification:

  • FL Driver's License (DL)

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years' experience either for a commercial furniture dealer, independent installation contractor, or an in-house position working for an end user.

Additional Skills/Specialized Training Required:

  • Must be able to read basic floor plans and installation drawings. Able to read a tape measure, understand basic dimensional code requirements and clearances, and measure a worksite prior to installation.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Use of power and hand tools. Ability to work extended or flexible hours depending on facility needs.
  • Basic knowledge of a computer, especially MS Office, Excel and Outlook
