Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong New Product Development (NPD) experience to support the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in sheet metal, casting, and rotomolded component design using SolidWorks, along with strong engineering analysis capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for new product development projects.
- Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
- Design components involving:
- Sheet metal
- Castings
- Rotomolded parts
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure manufacturability and assembly fit.
- Conduct engineering calculations including:
- Free Body Diagram (FBD) analysis
- Machine design calculations
- Structural and mechanical evaluations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and product validation activities.
- Drive design improvements for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in New Product Development (NPD).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Experience with machine design principles and engineering calculations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to sheet metal, casting, and rotomolding.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
