Aside from the job description, what will a typical day for this contractor look like?
This role will split time across event execution, community management, and operational support. A typical week may include coordinating event logistics and registration, managing the Launchpad Slack community, drafting and scheduling community content, coordinating with internal marketing and sales stakeholders, supporting VC and ecosystem partner activations, maintaining trackers and reporting, and driving follow-up actions from events and campaigns. During key moments such as Dreamforce and SF Tech Week, event support and onsite coordination will be a larger focus.

Teachable skills: Salesforce ecosystem knowledge, marketing campaign operations and reporting, Salesforce event processes
Optional skills: Experience managing communities (Slack or similar platforms), Salesforce experience, experience working closely with executive audiences (founders, CXOs, investors)

Scope of Work: Launchpad Marketing & Community Lead (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Overview
Salesforce's Startups & Venture Capital Team is seeking interim coverage for the Community & Engagement lead to support community, events, and VC and startup ecosystem initiatives during a 6-month maternity leave period (June-December 2026). This will be a part-time role (approx. 20-25 hours/week).

This role will support Salesforce Launchpad – a program for high-growth startups, bringing together founders, operators, and VC partners through events, content, and community to deepen engagement and drive new logo growth. This role will serve as the primary execution lead across events, founder community, and marketing partnerships.

Scope & Responsibilities

1. Events & Campaigns

Lead end-to-end execution of Launchpad-led events and support integration into broader marketing activations.

* Own planning and execution of owned events (i.e., founder/CXO dinners/breakfasts, Dreamforce), including timelines, logistics, invites, registration, and onsite coordination
* Drive cross-functional alignment with marketing, sales, and partner teams
* Support industry event activations, including operationalizing our "event-in-a-box” approach to extend Launchpad into marketing-led conferences
* Partner with SMB Marketing on campaign coordination tied to events (email, paid, social), ensuring alignment with broader new logo efforts


2. Launchpad Community

Manage and grow the Launchpad founder community (Slack-based), with a focus on engagement and consistency.

* Own day-to-day Slack operations: posting cadence, moderation, and member support
* Coordinate and promote monthly office hours and community programming
* Develop and publish community content (announcements, resources, event tie-ins)
* Track engagement KPIs and maintain visibility into growth and activity


3. VC Partnerships & Marketplaces (Supporting)

Support expansion of Launchpad's distribution through VC and ecosystem channels.

* Coordinate outreach and follow-ups with VC partners and marketplace platforms
* Maintain partnership and marketplace trackers
* Support co-marketing opportunities (e.g., newsletters, community features, events)
* Help ensure visibility into partnership pipeline and activity


4. Reporting & Operations

Maintain operational rigor and visibility across all workstreams.

* Own weekly updates across events, community, and partnership trackers
* Ensure campaign and registration tracking hygiene
* Support reporting for forecasting, QBRs, and internal updates
* Identify and improve operational gaps as needed

Operates with autonomy while maintaining clear, consistent communication
Ideal Qualifications

* Experience in B2B marketing, events, or startup ecosystem programs
* Strong operator with end-to-end project management experience
* Experience managing communities (Slack or similar)
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams
* Strong written communication skills
* Based in San Francisco Bay Area
