Here's a summary of responsibilities:
The Manager, Impact & Athlete Grants leads the strategy, administration, reporting and continuous improvement of all USOPC athlete‑facing grant programs, with a primary focus on developing and implementing new donor‑funded grant initiatives that directly support Team USA athletes. This role ensures that grants are delivered with excellence, equity, and transparency, and that they reflect both athlete needs and donor intent. The Manager also oversees all donor‑funded reporting, ensuring accurate, timely, and compelling documentation of program impact, financial stewardship, and athlete outcomes. The Manager collaborates closely with the Foundation, Finance, NGBs, Sport & Athlete Services Division and external partners to strengthen the athlete experience and maximize the impact of philanthropic investment across the Olympic and Paralympic movements.
Here’s how you’ll have an impact:
Donor Stewardship, Reporting & Collaboration
  1. Partner with the Development team to translate donor funded organization priorities into high‑impact athlete grant programs.
  2. Collaborate with the Foundation to support the creation, management, and delivery of all donor‑funded reporting, including financial reporting, impact reporting, narrative updates, and athlete stories.
  3. Develop standardized reporting frameworks and ensure consistent, accurate, and timely reporting across all donor‑funded initiatives.
  4. Support the preparation of donor‑facing materials such as proposals, impact reports, and program updates that demonstrate measurable outcomes and athlete stories.
  5. Serve as a key liaison for donor‑funded initiatives, ensuring transparency, accountability, and strong stewardship.
Financial Oversight & Reporting
  1. Collaborate with Finance to manage budgets, track expenditures, and ensure accurate allocation of restricted and unrestricted funds.
  2. Produce internal and external reports on program performance, impact metrics, and grant utilization.
  3. Identify operational risks and opportunities to strengthen financial integrity and program efficiency.
Strategic Leadership for Athlete Grants
  1. Shape and execute the USOPC’s strategy for athlete‑facing grants, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, donor expectations, and the Athlete Journey.
  2. Lead the design and launch of new donor‑funded grant programs, including program frameworks, eligibility criteria, application processes, and evaluation plans.
  3. Conduct ongoing needs assessments and incorporate athlete, NGB, and internal stakeholder feedback to refine and evolve grant offerings.
Grant Program Administration
  1. Manage the full lifecycle of all athlete grants: application, review, award, disbursement, monitoring, and closeout.
  2. Oversee application systems, review processes, and communication workflows to ensure clarity, fairness, and accessibility for athletes.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting for all grant programs in accordance with USOPC policies and donor requirements.
  4. Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory standards, including donor‑restricted fund management.
  5. Serve as the primary liaison for any Third Party Administrators involved in the administration of donor-funded grant programs.
Athlete Support & Communication
  1. Provide clear, accessible guidance to Team USA athletes regarding grant opportunities, eligibility, timelines, and application expectations.
  2. Develop communication materials, FAQs, and outreach strategies to increase awareness and equitable participation across sports and disciplines.
  3. Support athletes throughout the application and award process with a focus on user experience and minimizing administrative burden.
  4. Other duties as assigned
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, sports management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, donor relations, impact reporting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with development, or advancement teams to support donor-funded initiatives and communicate program impact.
  • Experience collecting, synthesizing, and translating qualitative and quantitative data into compelling reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including program staff, donors, partners, and senior leaders.
  • Experience supporting operational processes, tracking outcomes, and maintaining accurate program documentation and reporting.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or as a system administrator preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of grantmaking best practices and program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality reports, impact summaries, and financial stewardship documentation.
  • Ability to analyze data, track outcomes, and produce clear, compelling reports.
  • Passion for sport and the ideals of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and gain trust in virtual environments

  • Hiring pay range $72,000 - $77,000 per year.
  • This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 15% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
