About This Role As a Med-Surg LPN at NVRH, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered nursing care across a diverse population, including medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric patients. This role offers the opportunity to build strong clinical skills while making a visible difference in a critical access hospital environment where every team member is essential. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care and contribute to the nursing process by collecting data, assisting with assessments, and supporting individualized care plans across all age groups within the scope of the LPN license Deliver safe, high-quality care through accurate medication administration, IV therapy support, documentation, and adherence to established policies and protocols Support patient and family education by reinforcing teaching plans, evaluating understanding, and documenting care appropriately Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary team while supporting LNAs and contributing to efficient unit operations and patient flow Required Qualifications Graduate of an approved School of Practical Nursing. New graduates are encouraged to apply! Currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program, or willing to enroll and progress toward RN completion within two years. Current Vermont Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required One year of acute care experience preferred Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills About NVRH Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, in the Northeast Kingdom.
