Summary

This position is eligible for Sign-On Bonus up to $7,500

Parkview Behavioral Health, located at 1720 Beacon Street, consists of four adult units totaling 55 beds and one youth unit with 34 beds. The adult units serve individuals aged 18 and older, while the youth unit admits patients between the ages of 5 and 17. All admissions are for acute inpatient care, with typical stays ranging from three to seven days.

Registered Nurses at Parkview are responsible for managing a diverse range of psychiatric diagnoses, including Major Depressive Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Schizophrenia, Substance Use Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.

The behavioral health team embraces a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care, providing nurses the opportunity to work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists, and behavioral health specialists. The primary objective of each inpatient stay is to stabilize patients experiencing a psychiatric crisis and equip them with the community-based resources necessary for continued success in an outpatient setting.

Responsible for assisting Registered Nurses with care and assessment all age groups within the Standard of Care set by Parkview Health System and Indiana Nurse Practice Act.

Education

Must be a graduate of a school of nursing. Must complete General Orientation, Patient Care Orientation, and unit specific orientation as provided and required.

Licensure/Certification

Valid Licensed Practice Nurse License required for the State where services will be provided. Must have current CPR certification. Additional certifications may be required for specific areas. For Peds department, must have PALS within 1 year. ED at Randallia and PRMC: ACLS and PALS both required within 1 year. Randallia ED: NVCI required within 6 months. Current co-workers have until 11/5/2020 to obtain NVCI.

Experience

Demonstrate experience in customer service, establishing priorities, and working independently.

Other Qualifications

Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and assist with 100 lbs.
