Job Summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to work as a technician to provide exceptional services to our residential and commercial clients. This role is responsible for overseeing scheduled visits, upselling with additional service offerings, and ensuring that every property is maintained to Moon Valley's standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in irrigation, plant identification and overall basic understanding of tree and plant care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform client site visits, review the irrigation needs and develop the needed recommendations.
• Monitor and diagnose irrigation issues, including communicating the recommended upgrades to clients.
• Perform field work including trenching, digging, maintain/set/install clock/timer, installing irrigation lines, upgrading various irrigation parts throughout the property.
• Ensure safe and proper use of all tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and submit professional post-visit summaries through HubSpot or similar platforms.
• Provide exceptional customer service, representing the Moon Valley brand with professionalism and integrity.
• Coordinate with Tree Care leadership to ensure maintenance schedules and quality standards are met.
• Support training and safety compliance within the maintenance crew.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum 3-5+ years of experience and understanding of irrigation systems, irrigation clocks and water management along with experience in landscaping, or related field work.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
• Comfortable using digital tools such as HubSpot, mobile apps, or similar platforms.
• Must pass MVP, DOT, QAL, and drug screening requirements.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent experience

Physical requirements/Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
