Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of a dual language certified teacher. This position is Title I funded.
High school diploma or GED, and one of the following:
Additionally, within one year of being hired, Title I, Part A paraprofessionals must have the Educational Aide state certification.
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Bilingual preferred
Some experience working with children
Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials
Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments
Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher
Work with individual students or small groups of students
Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
Maintain professional interactions with staff, parents, community and visitors.
Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and withstand pressures.
Demonstrate flexibility to change in routine and adapt quickly to changing situations.
Demonstrates respect, courteous to peers and visitors and assists fellow workers willingly.
Avoid speaking badly about the district and district personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirement and qualification for the position.
Copier, personal computer, and other instructional technology equipment.
Personal or laptop computer, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, electronic mobile devices, and other instructional technology
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

This is a grant funded position. Funds for this position are expected to be available up to the end of the school year.
