A leading university is seeking an Inspector to assess room conditions, identify damages, and support maintenance readiness following student move-out. This role ensures spaces are properly prepared for incoming residents by coordinating inspections, documentation, and repair workflows.
Inspector Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed room and facility inspections to assess condition, identify damages, safety concerns, missing items, and maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with custodial teams and Housing Building Managers to identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and ensure spaces meet move-in readiness standards.
- Create and manage work orders for maintenance issues, track completion, and verify vendor work, cleaning, and repairs.
- Document findings, generate reports, and prepare preliminary damage billing assessments using photos, forms, and established guidelines.
- Support operational tasks including inventory counts, asset tracking, key accountability, facility checks (e.g., custodial closets), and special projects as assigned.
Inspector Qualifications:
- 1+ year of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience conducting inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating maintenance or facility-related tasks.
- Proficiency with computer systems and software for reporting, documentation, and work order management.
- Valid CA Driver’s License is preferred. Less than 10% of travel time is expected.
Shift:
- 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday, Friday.
- Occasional extended hours after 5:00 pm or weekends based on operational needs.
