The Position
Information Technology Technician (Part-Time)
The Information Technology Agency has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual who understands that supporting end users is critical to the success of any information technology system. The Information Technology Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of technical support assignments supporting citywide information technology systems, as well as maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.

The Information Technology Technician is a paid, part-time/temporary position scheduled to work no more than 29 hours per week and is not eligible to participate in the Citys health insurance or retirement plans.

Background Investigation
All appointments to this position are subject to a satisfactory background investigation conducted by the Ontario Police Department. The background investigation will include the following: passing of a polygraph test and the successful completion of a post-offer medical exam (including drug screen). Candidates may be disqualified from further consideration during the background investigation for a variety of reasons including if they have: an excessive number of traffic citations and/or collisions; arrests and/or convictions; a history of illegal substance abuse; poor credit history (factors include bankruptcy, foreclosures, liens, repossessions, and recency); or thefts from a previous employer. Qualification Guidelines
Education
High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
Experience
One (1) year of professional work experience in the information technology field, with an emphasis on technical support.
Licenses
Desirable
Experience with municipal or other government operations.
A valid CompTIA A+ Certification or other Information Technology certifications in operating systems, networking, or related technologies.
A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Experience with ServiceNow.
