Job Summary:

The Front Office Manager is the primary supervisor of the Front Desk and Guest Services when on duty and also must set an example to other staff members throughout the hotel.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all front office employees, including supervision of front desk agents, overnight agents, and phone operators.
  • Conducts all interviews and hiring for the department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing Front Desk clerk duties.
  • Maintaining the quality of group reservations.
  • Scheduling all Front Desk and Night Audit personnel.
  • Assuming the duties and responsibilities of the Manager on Duty when assigned.
  • Maintain training manuals for new hires.
  • Assisting the Rooms Division Manager in the responsibility of enforcing Departmental and Hotel procedures and policies.
  • Keeping the lines of communication open with both the Rooms Division Manager and the staff members who report to you.
  • Adhere to the policies of the Hotel as set forth in the Employee Handbook and report any observed violations to Divisional management and/or Human Resources.
  • Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all Departments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
  • Understand guest inquiries and provide responses quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to promote positive relations with all individuals who come in contact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
