Pay Range: $18 - $19/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Mail Processing & Administrative Support-Sort and distribute electronic and paper mail.
  • Review daily batch print jobs and route documents appropriately.
  • Accurately fold, stuff, and prepare envelopes for mailing.
  • Route checks and miscellaneous correspondence to designated departments.
  • Type letters and process undeliverable mail.
  • Transaction Processing
  • Manage transactions throughout the lifecycle of bonds, including:
  • New business processing
  • Cancellations
  • Reinstatements
  • Amendments and policy updates
  • Process monetary transactions according to policy provisions and assigned authority limits.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in transaction processing and record management.
  • Resolve routine processing errors and perform corrective actions as needed.
  • Customer Service & Communication
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, agents, brokers, government agencies, and internal business partners.
  • Communicate effectively through email, written correspondence, and phone interactions.
  • Assist customers with financial transactions and account-related requests.
  • Provide documentation to agents and respond to service inquiries promptly.
  • Policy Administration & Research
  • Interpret contract provisions for current and legacy products.
  • Research records, reports, and policy information to make accurate decisions.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance and financial services products, processing systems, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify situations requiring advanced technical expertise and escalate appropriately.
  • Additional Duties
  • Support team operations and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Skills-High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues using available resources.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Undergraduate coursework or degree preferred.
  • 2 years of product-related customer service experience preferred.
  • 3 years of overall work experience preferred.
  • Experience within insurance, annuities, mutual funds, or financial services industries.
  • Technical coursework or certifications such as:
  • LOMA
  • CLU
  • ChFC
  • NASD Series 6 and/or Series 26 licenses preferred (may be required depending on business assignment).
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • General office practices and customer service principles.
  • Insurance and financial services industry knowledge preferred.
  • Basic mathematics and record-keeping procedures.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet established service standards.
  • Experience working with office equipment, computer systems, and customer management tools.
  • Work Environment
  • Full-time onsite position in Des Moines, Iowa.
  • Collaborative office environment requiring regular interaction with customers, agents, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
