The Comforted Canine is hiring independent dog sitters and walkers for in-home visits and dog walks.
You set your availability and service area—we match you with clients.
 


What You’ll Do

  • Provide in-home dog care (walks, drop-ins, overnights, or live-in house sitting — based on your availability)
  • Follow detailed care instructions (feeding, water, potty breaks, meds as needed)
  • Walk dogs safely with professional leash handling and situational awareness
  • Send updates with notes + photos after each visit
  • Maintain cleanliness and respect client homes

Service Types

  • Walks: 30-90 minutes (1-3x daily)
  • Drop-ins: 30 / 45 / 60 minutes (1–3x daily)
  • Extended daytime visits: 4-8 hours
  • Overnights: 10-hour stays
  • 24-hour care: live-in with overnight care
 

What We Look For

  • Experienced with dog care, especially in a pet sitting capacity
  • Confidently handle dogs from small to large
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Strong written communication
  • Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
  • Availability (especially holidays/travel periods)

Schedule (Flexible, With Standards)

You choose your availability and what job to accept.
If you accept a booking, you must arrive on time and complete every update.

Typical visit windows:

  • Morning (6a–12p)
  • Afternoon (12p–5p)
  • Evening (5p–10p)
  • Overnights / Live-in
 

Requirements

Must have:

  • 18+ with hands-on dog care experience
  • Smartphone with reliable internet + camera
  • Ability to pass background check + provide references
  • Strong communication and professionalism

Preferred:

  • Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids)
  • Holiday availability
 

Not a Fit If…

  • You can’t reliably arrive within scheduled windows
  • Are not confident handling dogs on leash in real-world environments
  • You don’t want to send updates after each visit
  • You struggle to follow detailed instructions
  • You’re uncomfortable working independently in clients’ homes
