Position Summary...
As the Director of Exhibit Curation and Digital Experience, you will lead the museum's digital and physical curatorial strategies, ensuring the organization's collections, exhibitions, and experiences meet world-class standards of innovation, storytelling, and accessibility. This leadership role combines technological expertise, curatorial rigor, and organizational leadership to preserve the past while inspiring future generations through cutting-edge methods of digital curation and storytelling inside The Walmart Museum, across our Home Office, our remote locations, and on our website.
In this strategic position you will oversee multidisciplinary teams encompassing curators, designers, and museum professionals. Your leadership will set the vision for integrating contemporary technologies into curation and exhibition design while expanding access to the museum's collections both physically and digitally. As a thought leader, you will ensure the museum remains at the forefront of digital innovation, scholarship, and associate engagement, and physical design.
As a member of Walmart's Museum and Heritage group, you will define and execute key strategies that integrate cultural preservation with Walmart's broader corporate goals, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to foster connection, pride, and engagement.

Essential Functions:
Leadership and Management:
Team Oversight: Leading and managing the curatorial team, including digital team, designers, senior curators, curators, assistants, and interns.
Mentorship: Providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for design and curatorial staff.
Strategic Planning:
Vision and Goals: Setting the vision and long-term goals for the museum's curatorial direction.
Policy Development: Establishing policies and procedures for exhibitions.
Exhibition Development:
Conceptualization: Leading the development of physical and digital exhibition themes and concepts.
Project Oversight: Overseeing the planning, design, and execution of major exhibitions, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
Digital Experience:
Digital Initiatives: Leading efforts to incorporate digital tools and software into exhibitions and collection management.
Innovation: Staying current with advancements in museum technology and integrating them into curatorial practices.
Research and Scholarship:
Advanced Research: Conducting research in the collection and related topics for exhibits.
Publications: Writing and contributing to corporate content, exhibition catalogs, or digital experiences.
Financial Management:
Budgeting: Managing the budget for the design and curatorial department.
Public Engagement and Outreach:
Community Relations: Engaging with the community and stakeholders to promote the museum's mission.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
Internal Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as programming, operations, and archives.
External Partnerships: Building and maintaining relationships with other museums, cultural institutions, and academic organizations.
Assessment and Reporting:
Performance Evaluation: Conducting regular assessments of exhibitions and programs to evaluate their success and impact.
Reporting: Providing detailed reports and updates to the museum's executive leadership and board of trustees.
Project Management
Defining, organizing, and leading the work implement physical and digital exhibits in our museum and in digital spaces.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
