The Director of Philanthropy (Principal Gifts) reports to senior leadership and is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors capable of giving $5M+ to support organizational priorities.
They manage a portfolio of 50-75 households, collaborating with executives, staff, and volunteers to develop funding strategies and secure major gifts, aiming for at least 15 gifts of $1M+ annually.
The role involves articulating compelling cases for support, creating proposals, negotiating gift terms, and ensuring donor recognition and stewardship.
They track engagement activities, coordinate with clinical and finance teams, and represent the organization at community events.
The ideal candidate has 10-15 years of fundraising experience, preferably in healthcare, with strong relationship-building, organizational, and communication skills, and proficiency with CRM systems like Raiser's Edge NXT.
