Job Description

 

POSITION: Director of Student Enrollment

 

REPORTS TO: Managing Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment

 

POSITION TYPE: 12-month

 

START DATE: Immediate

 

COMPENSATION: $74,604 – $89,525, Home Office Grade 7

THE ROLE

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:

 

Student Enrollment Strategy & Execution

  • Leading and orchestrating the yearly lottery process for all incoming students at YES Prep Public Schools;
  • Establishing and maintaining geographical boundaries for campuses to inform transportation, feeder patterns, and lottery priority;
  • Leading the vision and execution of yearly student registration and re-enrollment processes in collaboration with District Registrar, Compliance, and SIS teams;
  • Developing and overseeing internal student transfer policy and processes;
  • Identifying gaps in enrollment processes and leading targeted improvements to strengthen execution and outcomes.

 

Project Management & Organizational Alignment

  • Creating and implementing student enrollment strategic plans to meet enrollment targets;
  • Establishing and upholding clear student lottery processes and supporting execution across campuses;
  • Designing and leading training for school-based staff to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent execution of enrollment practices across campuses;
  • Partnering closely with the Director of Student Application Strategy to align campus-level support and enrollment execution based on differentiated campus needs (School Tiers);
  • Partnering closely with the Student Outreach Data Manager to ensure all enrollment systems are properly configured, tested, and ready for application launch and lottery execution;
  • Collaborating with, and ensuring accountability of school-based staff to ensure the successful execution of enrollment activities and procedures;
  • Auditing campus lottery and enrollment practices to ensure compliance with YES Prep and Texas Education Agency policies;
  • Troubleshooting lottery and enrollment issues throughout the year to ensure continuity of enrollment operations;
  • Supporting Directors of Campus Operations and Lottery Coordinators with policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure consistent execution across campuses.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Building and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders within YES Prep (Marketing, Communications, campus leadership, C-Suite, etc.) to ensure alignment;
  • Meeting with school leaders and Directors of School Operations to present critical enrollment data insights, inform decision-making, and drive student enrollment progress;
  • Developing key metrics to track and analyze all data regarding student enrollment benchmarks and goals;
  • Providing regular updates on progress towards goals to campus teams, campus leadership, and Home Office Leadership (including C-Suite).

 

People Management

  • Directly manage and develop the Manager of Student Enrollment and the Student Enrollment Coordinator;
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and ongoing feedback to ensure strong execution of enrollment systems and processes;
  • Build team capacity and ensure clear roles, expectations, and accountability aligned to enrollment goals.

THE MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution OR equivalent professional experience."
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in K-12 student recruitment
  • Demonstrated results in achieving student recruitment/sales goals
  • Strong cultural competency skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse population
  • Exceptional project management skills, with an ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an energetic attitude; ability to successfully engage, cultivate, and steward relationships with community members and organizational partners effectively and quickly build rapport
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Highly-motivated and self-starter / self-directed learner with a "whatever it takes" attitude to work independently and as a team player

  • Proficiency in Office 365, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies (SchoolMint, video conferencing apps, etc.)

THE NICE TO HAVES

  • Strongly prefer fluency in spoken and written Spanish
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems such as Salesforce
  • Graduate degree in Marketing

  • Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.

 

  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.

 

  • Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and an optional 457b Retirement Plan.

 

  • Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
